• Shadow on Ct Scan
  My husband has had some discomfort in his lower stomach,  his dr diagnosed diverticulosis on Wednesday and sent him for a CT scan,  The office called this morning to tell us there were abnormalities on the scan with a shadow by the pancreas.   Has anyone experienced this,  does it always mean cancer?   There is no jauntice or change in bowl or urinary functions,  I am frightened, can anyone shed any light?
• neuroendocrine carcinoma
  My husband was diagosed with high grade neuroendrine carcinoma of the mediastinum in July!  He is currently having chemo treatments of cisplatin and VP16.  Anyone out there have any who has this or is a survivor of this cancer????
• Im scared.
  I have a small lump on the side of my cheek. Im worrid about it but scared to say anything to my parents. Its hardly noticable, only when felt with my tounge. Is it cancer?Its a movable lump..

  my grandpa died when iwas 3 and i think about him all the time i feel lost with out him .  he said i was his favorite grandchild. and i have 9 cousins so that means a lot. he was my favorite person in the whole world. its like i did not cry at his funeral i did not even think twice. now i cant  get him off my mind.plz help,layna
• Concerned About Trouble swallowing
  Hi AllI just quit smoking 6 weeks ago, after smoking for abou 5 years, between 1-2 packs a day.  When I quit, I had a chest cold.  Now, 6 weeks later, no problem breathing or coughing ... but I feel like I have a lump in the middle of my chest, and some trouble swallowing.  What is the likelihood that this is cancer, when I didn't have any problems swallowing at all until I quit smoking? Thanks for your help.
• Cancer or Unknown Primary, pulling, burning nerve pains
  I am very confused, puzzled, sadden, scared ( I lost my Dad on Colon cancer last year) as 3 weeks ago, the doctors said my mum has Lung cancer after she coughed in blood as the result of taking hypertension medication (no more blood muccus since quitting that drug).  So after weeks of CT scan, MRI scan, 2 lung Biopsy tests (Inconclusive, dead tissues on multiple locations of sample masses inside the lung, Kaiser now sends to independent lab for test), the doctors still believe (or highly suspect) my Mum has cancer but they dont know its origin, but based on the Blood CHA test, CT scan - spots seen from spine /skull / liver). They also believe it is stage4 as it spreads to Bone already.  Without know where and what cancer she got, they said they cant give my mum any treatment but pain killer / drugs.Last Friday, my Mum had a liver biopsy. I dont know if this gonna to answer anything for us.  I googled and see the liver cancer symptoms aint match what my mum is experienced now - she has a constant pulling / twitching, burning nerve pain ( worse than giving birth as she said ) each time she moves her body.  It starts from the right side of below breast area  (lower lung area?) and pull all the way down to her thigh.  She also has a hard time to swallow things right now.  We have to take her to shower, peepee, etc as she has a hard time of moving...My question is if anyone has any similar symptoms or know anyone has such similiar symptoms too?  She also is waiting for bone biopsy next week. In the mean time, she is in ER and on hydromorphone IV 20mg.    Thanks in advance.
• possible recurrence
  I am 8 months out of treatment for Tx(unknown primary) N2  MO.My intitial pet scan was totally normal in April of this year and I had my 2nd pet four days ago and it showed an uptake in the area where the tumor was. I might add that I had surgery prior to radiation and chemo where 1/2 the tumor was removed due to its' precarious position relative to the external carotrid artery. Yesterday I had an HD catscan to show more specific pictures and it showed no tumor but 2 very small enlarged lymph nodes in the tumor area.The strange thing about this is that I am sore and swollen right in that area. There is scar tissue there from the radiation and my surgeon seems to think that maybe I have an infection in those 2 nodes so he put me on bactrim and avelox antibiotics to see if this indeed some kind of infection.I have steadily gained weight and have a great appettite and energy.My question is does anyone know if a petscan will light up an area where an infection is present? ..........especially after the first pet was totally normal. Could it have taken six months for the nodes and surrounding tissue to swell as a result of inflamation due to scar tissue?. .Thank you very much for your help God Bless
• Swelling in lower extemeties and leg pain
  I have had extreme swelling in my knees and below.  I mean HUGE!  The last time this happened was Feb 07, and I could hardly get some sandals on my swollen feet to go to the hospital.  When I got there they immediately said that I was having Congestive Heart Failure, and they began an interveinius line to rid me of my fluids.  They kept me overnight, and ran a series of tests and rushed me to a bigger hospital to have an Angioplasty done.  After it was over they said that they found no blockage.  So why had I swelled up so hugely?  I mean I looked like an elephants legs.  Now since yesterday I am swelling even more than before, and am afraid to go to the doctor and go through all that again only to hear that there is no blockage.  I am wondering if it could be my pancreas or my liver.  How do they test for that?  And how do I emplore that they run those kinds of tests?As I am it is very hard to get up from sitting, and to sit down.  And I have to walk very slowly and carefully as it is painful.  What in the world does one do? What should I think?  I have extreme thirst constantly, and am never without a drink.  I am not a diabetic.Help me!

  I lost mt precious mum on monday sept 15th.I miss her so much i dont no how to cope as she died with me and my brother byb her side in my home . Liliy.

• Islet Cell cancer of pancreas
  I had surgery for islet cell cancer in fall of 2005.  Then I went a year without treatment.  Then the tumors grew in my liver and I had a year of chemo. Then I have had a year free from chemo.  I understand that the chemo eventually doesn't work.  Right now I am feeling fine.  I would like to communicate to others in this situation.  I am being well treated in Seattle.  I would like to know what treatments people have liked after chemo no longer works.  I have had chemo embolization recommended to me for when the tumors grow larger..  I am 68 and have had a great life and have faith that whatever will be will be.  I enjoy each day and feel I am healed on a day to day basis.  I have been fortunate not to have any side effects from the disease or my treatments.  However, it is no fun to have a terminal illness.  It effects everything in your mind, body and soul

  All--My Mom left this earth yesterday 10/1, with a smile on her face.  She was dx'd in Dec 2006, with Stage IV Lung Cancer and declined any and all treatment.  She was given 8-10
