Posted Monday, Dec. 29, 2008Oren Clem, 59, Rossville Oren O’Neil “Neil” Clem of Rossville died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at his home. He was 59.Neil was born in Danville, Ky., where he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was previously owner/operator of Hawg Wild Cycle Supply in Fort Oglethorpe.He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Clem.Survivors include his wife, Camilla Miller Clem of Rossville; parents, Oren and Bette Clem of Danville; daughter, Lea Ann Metcalfe of LaGrange, Ky.; stepson, Gary Miller of Rossville; brother, Arthur “Art” Clem of Cleveland, Tenn.; sister, Laura Roller of Danville; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Services: Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Nellie Corbin, 100, LaFayette Nellie Hill Corbin of LaFayette died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008. He was 55.He was born to the late Allen D. and Mary E. Graham in Kingsport, Tenn., on Aug. 3, 1953. Randall was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed refinishing furniture, carpentry and gardening, and was a mechanic. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra Cooper and Robin Presley. She was 83.She lived in the Chattanooga area since 1978. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Graysville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Garfield Knowles; parents, Edward and Rosie Whisenhunt; daughter, Nellie Creed; sister, Betty Veringo; brothers, Clarence, Ralph and Bobby Whisenhunt and Lloyd Sykes. Survivors include her daughters, Mackalene Leonnig of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Annette Ahart of Spotsylvania, Va.; sons, Winston, Robert, Vincent and Joseph Knowles, all of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Danny Knowles of Fairfax, Va.; sisters, Beulah Haynes, Ruby Saunders, both of Virginia, and Myrtle Hayes of Kingsport, Tenn.; 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was 71.He was born in Florence, Ala., to the late Walter Hugh and Missy Imogene Lyles Littleton. He attended and graduated from Florence State College and later received his Specialist degree in science and administration. He holds the record of shutouts in one season and the record for most shutouts in a career in baseball at Florence State College, now known as the University of North Alabama. He served his country in the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged as a second lieutenant. He was a former teacher and coach at the following high schools: Opelika, Bremen, Rockmart and Cass. He retired from Chickamauga City Schools after 35 years of teaching and coaching. He was known in Chickamauga as Coach Littleton for “The Mighty Trojans of Gordon Lee,” where he led the boys baseball team to the state championship in 1979 and 1984. He had coached football and led them to the region championship. He had also coached girls basketball. He had formerly served on the State Executive Board of the Georgia High School Athletic Association, Chickamauga City Schools Board of Education and the former president of the Region 6-A. He served as principal at Gordon Lee High School from 1989 to 1994. He was the Baseball Region Coach of the Year for 1968, 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1984. He was the State Baseball Coach of the Year in 1979 and 1984. He was the Region Football Coach of the Year in 1978. He was an elder at Chickamauga Church of Christ and the former teacher of the Adult Class.Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Barbara Jean Weathers Littleton; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Robin Padgett, Lori Jean and Brian Bussey, Amy Gaye Littleton, all of Chickamauga; sister, Julia “Pudge” High of Hendersonville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole and Jamie Crane, Jacob Lee Padgett, Jillian Rhea Padgett, Russell Blake Bussey, Christian Blaine Bussey; great-grandson, Cayden Parker Padgett; several nieces and nephews. Life Celebration service: Monday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Gordon Lee High School gymnasium with ministers David Wade, Tommy O’Kelly and Robby Langston officiating. Visitation: Saturday, Dec. 27, from 5-9 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 28, from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 29, prior to the service. He was 56.He worked for Roper for 10 years, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and golfing. Steve was a devoted and loving husband and father, and was of the Baptist faith.He was preceded in death by his father, John “Dugan” Peace; brothers, Mickey and Freddy Peace.Survivors include his loving wife, Myra Jo Peace of LaFayette; mother, Georgia Peace of Trion; daughters, April (Russ) Ronda of Ringgold, Jana (Jeffery) Stanfill, Brittany Peace and Phillip, all of Pensacola, Fla.; siblings, John (Alice) Peace, Martha (Sammy) Brown, Patsy (Billy) Parker, Marvin (Diane) Peace, Mary Nell Chastain, David Peace, Randy (Donna) Peace; grandchildren, Sam, Ellie, K.P., Jessica, Joselyn, Maria; and many nieces and nephews.Services: Sunday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. at the chapel with Rev.
