Great, I'm out of work for a year and my benefits run out. I deplete my savings just to make ends meet. I finally get a job in February that requires a move to another state. Now I find out the benefits have been extended and I'm not even eligible because I now have a job. Oh, and did I mention, I paid a penalty to pull out those savings just to live. You just gotta love our Federal government!...

I lost my job in Sept 07 after working for over 20 years. My unemployment has ran out and I've had no luck on getting a job. I've watched my savings and 401 go to zero, borrowed against life insurance just trying to keep in the game. I'm in Maryland and we need this in place! Maryland State Unemployment told me in 7/08 bill passed but not enacted yet in Maryland. What is wrong with the people running our country? Other than the fact they have a paycheck, aren't reading up on Bankruptcy and trying to feed a family on limited funds. Sadly we profess to be a great country and we send millions to other countries to prove we're richest but we realistically we are a selfish country and it's every guy for himself. How can something that is obviously needed take so long to get through?...

Will W. get an unemployment check when he is out of office, will he need an extension, or will we, the people, pay a high price for a retirement that he has no right to recieve. Rebuke him. Stand up against this thief. He is the cause of your suffering....

Mr.Bush get real, the extention for the unemployment compensation must be passed, to help people who have families and are currently out of work. We can help everyone but not our own. Please pass this bill asap.....

I lost my job last year and have not found work yet. I have lost everything I owned and have had to move in with a relative. Something has to be done....

My CA unemployment will expire in a few weeks. I have been out of work since Feb and am not having any success in finding a job. If this is not extended soon I will be homeless and carless. Right now my unemployment pays my rent and car payment. No rent $ no home no car $ no transportation to look for work. I hope this will be passed soon...

When you say UE, do you mean UC (Unemployement Compensation)? If so, it sounds like the info under your belt is limited to a company located in a state where the employer does not deduct from the employee. My state certainly does....
  • Comment by HR 4934 may be DROPPED. (June 4, 2008, 01:00:00)
Check out www.Unemployed workers.org - entity for today. It indicates that the UC ext. may be ((dropped)) from the bill, so that Bush does not veto the the entire bill. We could be SCREWED. Also, check out the Washington Post website for more info....

With almost 10 years of unemployment law under my belt, I can say with any luck this bill will not pass. This will hurt our economy and every US citizen. Employers, who pay for UE benefits out of their quarterly taxes, will simply pass the cost on to the consumer (being all of us citizens) and everything from McDonalds to clothing will increase in price....

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS PLAN WILL INCLUDE ILLINOIS, OR IS THIS A STATE BY STATE BASIS....
  • Comment by To Nicle (June 2, 2008, 01:00:00)
If passed, all states should be included for 13 additional weeks, and states with highest unemployment rates will get more. It is a federal bill, which insures that the states have the money they need to pay out of their states UC fund....

This bill would have a huge impact on the lives of many US citizens. President Bush needs to wake up and get in tune to his LOCAL community, the US citizen. I also have umemployment benefits are finished this week and still have yet to find a job. I am not sure what BUSH is thinking, maybe whats for dinner? Oh yeah, you do have a roof over your head, a plate to eat your dinner on and US money in your pocket to fill your gas tank up to go to the market..oh I forgot you dont shop..someone does it for you..Who is in the land of unreality...you have lost it BUSH!...

I am already hearing in the news this morning. The Bill is NOT expected to pass. The funds will be funding the war. Now what do we all do now??...

An emergency extension of the unemployment compensation bill would certainly benefit me in maintaining everyday living. I have desperately seeking employment, fulltime and part-time to assist with my day to day living but to no avail. I have a remaining balance of $448.00 with no other source of income with no means of gainful employment, therefore I am stressed to the limited. An emergency extension of the unemployment compensation would certainly save my housing, utilities, medicines and insurances. Whatever can be done to assist many Americans just like me would certainly be appreciated. Your time and patience are always appreciated....
  • Comment by States at 6% (May 22, 2008, 01:00:00)
Although a great day for the Unemployed with no benefits. But, how many States will benefits from this. According to the Bill - States with a 6% or higher will benefit
