GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinate the activities of two to five Quality Engineers. The teams consist of a QE Lead plus anywhere from two to five additional quality engineers. Each team is responsible for ensuring the quality of their application as well as partnering with other QE teams to perform integrated solution testing. QE Leads have a functional reporting line into the Development Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops and implements test plans and scripts using industry testing strategies and methodologies.
Develops automated test scripts.
Monitors progress of the test plan and communicates its status to development managers.
Works pro actively with Development Managers to ensure Quality Engineers are involved in the development process beginning with the release planning phase.
Facilitates external testing and joint testing with clients.
Monitors product stability by analyzing test results and defect tracking reports.
Review product documentation and provide input and direction to Technical Writers.
Helps drive and evolve existing QE processes, and ensures adherence to the client's process.
Determines project risk factors, from a QE perspective, and proposes possible solutions.
Communicates testing results to development team to drive resolution of defects.
Reviews functional and technical specifications.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Formal education level: Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
Specific skills & proficiency level:
Project management skills
Demonstrate knowledge of database concepts and SQL
Demonstrate knowledge of scripting technology (Jscript, VBScript, etc.)
Demonstrate knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP)
