• Aer Lingus announces removal of fuel surcharges from long haul flights
  Aer Lingus announces, with immediate effect, the removal of all fuel surcharges on its long haul services booked on flights from today. Since the introduction of fuel surcharges, the airline has kept the price of oil under review and has adjusted the surcharge level in line with movements in fuel prices. Today's decision has been taken in the context of reductions in fuel prices over a sustained period.
• Belavia E-ticket available all over Russia
  In order to give more opportunities to its customers to fly with E-tickets Belavia has signed one more Electronic Interline Agreement. This time the Russian S7 (Siberia Airlines) has become a partner of the Belarusian flag carrier.
• Czech Airlines named as the Best Airline in Central and Eastern Europe
  Czech Airlines has earned the award as the "Best Airline in Central and Eastern Europe", from the prestigious American magazine Business Traveler. The gala and the award ceremony took place on 11 December 2008 in Los Angeles, California. The magazine annually announces its awards on the basis of a reader survey. Czech Airlines has earned this title for the second year in a row.

  Emirates Airline's inaugural San Francisco flight had a smooth and specially co-ordinated "green" departure from Dubai International Airport today.
• bmi pioneers inflight mobile communications service
  bmi has become the first British carrier to offer its passengers an inflight communications service including the use of SMS-enabled mobile phones and PDAs (personal digital assistants). It will also allow access to the internet and email from laptop computers fitted with GSM data cards.
• Asiana Airlines recognized for best service by Business Traveler
  Asiana Airlines, for the third consecutive year, was awarded Best Flight Attendants in the World and Best In-flight Service in the World as well as Best Overall Customer Service- Airlines- Ground/Call center by Business Traveler Magazine.

• Martinair appoints new Director Key Accounts the Americas
  Martinair is pleased to announce the appointment of Arthur M. Brown as their new Director Key Accounts the Americas. He will be assuming his new responsibilities effective January 1st, 2008. Mr. Brown replaces Marcelo Ricciardulli, who served as Key Account Director for the past two years and previously as Martinair Cargo's Regional Sales Manager in Buenos Aires.

• Oman Air moves to Heathrow
  Oman Air has secured valuable slots at London's Heathrow airport to launch non-stop flights from Heathrow to Muscat in Oman. Oman Air currently operates a daily service to Muscat from London Gatwick but will move its operation to Heathrow from 15 January 2009.
• Czech Airlines to expand the options to purchase additional services
  Starting in the spring, Czech Airlines will expand the possibility of purchasing additional services at check-in and on board its aircraft. At airport check-in, passengers will be able to purchase travel insurance, lounge access, and other services. On board, Economy Class passengers will be able to purchase certain kinds of snacks and beverages.
• AirTran Airways makes it easier for travelers to pay with PayPal
  AirTran Airways today announced that it is making it faster for travelers to buy tickets online by offering PayPal Express Checkout. PayPal Express Checkout uses the information on file in a member's PayPal account to speed through checkout and bypass the need to enter passenger contact information and financial details.

  Jet Airways was honoured with the 2008 Galileo Express TravelWorld 'Best Domestic Full Service Airline' award at a glittering function at the Grand Hotel, Delhi on December 10, 2008.
• American Airlines named Best Airline for First Class Service in North America
  The thousands of readers of Business Traveler magazine have spoken, and they say that American Airlines is the "Best Airline for First-Class Service in North America" for 2008.
• EgyptAir and United Airlines announce Codeshare Agreement
  United Airlines and EgyptAir have signed an agreement to offer codeshare flights, which would expand the international destinations and enhance the frequent flyer benefits offered to customers of both carriers.
• Singapore Airlines adds Riyadh to its network from Sunday
  Singapore Airlines will launch its inaugural flight to Riyadh on Sunday, 14 December 2008. SQ454 will depart Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 at 1250hrs and is expected to arrive at Riyadh King Khalid International Airport Terminal 1 at 1820hrs.
• Air Berlin: Summer flights to Sylt now available for booking
  Air Berlin's non-stop flights to the German island of Sylt next summer are available for booking now. From D sseldorf there will be a daily service to Sylt, as was the case during the winter schedule. From Berlin passengers have a choice of five non-stop flights a week, and three non-stop flights a week from Munich. The airline also operates a service between Stuttgart and Sylt on Saturdays and Sundays.
