The opportunity Reporting to the CEO, this senior level management position is responsible for the strategic and tactical aspects of all accounting, finance and information systems initiatives for the Aquarium of the Pacific. The CFO manages two direct reports, and oversees a team of eight. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reporting to the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) will provide executive leadership, direction and overall management of the financial and administrative functions of Safe Horizon. The portfolio comprises finance and budget, information technology, human resources, training, and facilities management. Work closely with the financial planning and analysis group, providing the group with timely and accurate financial data needed for financial forecasting and budgeting and management reporting. 11. Interact with all levels of management and staff on significant accounting matters. 12. Participate in merger and acquisition activity. 13. Work on special projects as assigned by executive management. 14. All other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or finance required or equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred. • 12+ years of related accounting experience, including experience in public accounting and as a corporate controller or comparable division level financial position. • 7+ years of supervisory experience. • Public company experience, prefer experience with software as a service.
