Thousands of people hoping to visit family and friends over Christmas will face chaos on the roads and up to 11 days of rail closures because of engineering work. A new publication commissioned by the ESRC and the Technology Strategy Board, offers food for thought regarding whether travellers could avoid a lot of stress if they made better use of pre-travel and real-time information.
  • Professorial Fellowships announced
The latest Professorial Fellowships have been announced by the ESRC. These awards are intended to push back the frontiers of social science, by allowing the UK's leading scholars the time and opportunity to carry out cutting edge research, that will deepen our understanding of a number of critical social scientific questions in areas that will have an impact on the future of our society.
  • The UK's next step towards an innovation nation
