Minor Emma Thayer, through her father, Gregory Jones, is suing Subaru of America for the wrongful death of her mother, Lisa Ann Thayer. In her lawsuit, Emma Thayer is seeking medical expenses, loss of past and future earnings and earning capacity; general damages including loss of wrongful death, personal injuries, pain and suffering and legal costs. The national automobile defect law firm Bisnar Chase is representing Emma Thayer. The case was filed on August 25, 2008 in the Superior Court of California, Orange County, Case #30-2008-00109807. On August 14, 2008, Parker Waichman Alonso LLP filed suit on behalf of a 38 year old Powder Springs, Georgia man diagnosed with Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF) after receiving an injection of Omniscan, a gadolinium contrast dye manufactured by General Electric Company and its subsidiaries, GE Healthcare Inc., GE Healthcare Medical Diagnostics, GE Healthcare AS and Novation LLC. NSF is a condition that affects patients with pre-existing kidney disease who have been exposed to gadolinium contrast dyes such as Omniscan. NSF is a debilitating, often fatal disease that robs patients of their mobility. Symptoms of NSF include thickening and hardening of the skin, joint problems, muscle weakness and eye discoloration.
