Job Title - Property Claim Representative Trainee
LOCATION: Philadelphia, Delaware, and Bucks Counties.
SUMMARY:
A leading provider of Auto, Liability, Property and Workers - Compensation Insurance seeks talented, committed and professional team players to join our exciting, fast-moving and growing claim operation located in Reading, PA. We are looking for applicants in Philadelphia, Delaware and Bucks Counties.
You will complete a formal business training program for consideration of advancement to claim representative position. Provide outstanding customer service and be able to communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing with our customers and agents.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Participate in on-going training sessions for specific line of business.
Working from your home you will provide outstanding in-person customer service to our clients within your designated territory. You will obtain facts from clients and other parties. Work closely with Team Leader, Unit Manager or mentor to become a proficient insurance professional.
As part of your job responsibilities, you may participate in at least three or four CAT (Catastrophe) Tours each calendar year. Each CAT Tour deployment will range in duration from 14 to 30 days. As claim professionals, you will be required to wear Travelers branded shirts.
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:
College degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Solid keyboard and PC skills, with experience in Word and Excel.
OTHER:
Previous insurance or construction experience is a plus, but we will train strong candidates who are willing to work hard to learn our business.
Solid interpersonal and customer service skills.
Well-developed communication and organizational skills as well as a high-degree of initiative and mature judgment are essential.
Must be able to stoop, bend, crouch and climb to ensure full damage assessment on-site.
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive for extended periods of time.
Must have the ability and maturity to work from your home
To quality for this position, you must be able to travel to our corporate offices and be available for formal training.

SUMMARY:
Complete formal training program for consideration of advancement to claim representative position.
Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve claims on losses of lesser value and complexity.
Differences in settlement authority would be based on local discretion and product line guidelines.
Provide outstanding customer service.
PRIMARY DUTIES:

Provide voice-to-voice contact within 24 hours of first report.
Obtain facts from insurers, injured workers, claimants, agents, witnesses, attorneys and/or underwriters.
Determine coverage/compensibility, facts of loss and degree of liability/exposure. Maintain contact throughout the life of the file, as needed.
Work closely with Team Leader, Unit Manager or mentor to promptly resolve claim issues.
Refer claims as appropriate, based on exposure and established guidelines.
Maintain quality claim files in accordance with appropriate best practices, recognize and implement alternate means of resolution.
Customer service-contact in order to give, receives, or exchanges information.

Job Title - Outside Property Claim Representative
Location 'Philadelphia, Delaware and Bucks Counties

We are looking for adjusters in the Philadelphia, Delaware and Bucks Counties areas. PRIMARY DUTIES:
Handle first-party Property claims of medium to high severity and complexity as assigned.
Complete field inspection of losses including accurate scope of damages, photographs, written estimates and/or computer assisted estimates.
Investigate and evaluate all relevant facts to determine coverage, damages and liability of first-party property damage claims.
Establish timely and accurate claim and expense reserves.
Negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits.
Write denial letters, Reservation of Rights and other complex correspondence.
Control damages through proper usage of cost containment tools.
Meet all quality standards and expectations per Best Practices.
Maintain an effective diary system and document claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
Manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases.
Handle files in compliance with state regulations where applicable.
Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of the insured, agent and all other internal and external customers.
Identify and refer claims with MCU exposure to the supervisor.
Recognize when to refer claims to Special Investigations Unit and/or Subrogation Unit.
Act as a technical resource for Claim Representatives.
Perform administrative functions such as expense accounts, time-off reporting, etc. as required. Perform other duties as required.
As part of your job responsibilities, you may participate in several CAT Tours each year. Each CAT Tour deployment will range in duration from 21 to 30 days. You must have the ability to travel to these CAT sites as needed.
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:
College degree or equivalent in business experience preferred or college degree coupled with previous experience in construction or related fields.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Two to five years personal lines experience and commercial lines experience preferred.
Knowledge of construction, estimating and estimating system (Exactimate preferred)
Must be able to stoop, bend, crouch and climb (including climbing on roofs) to ensure full damage assessment on-site.
CERTIFICATE/DEGREES:
Completion of claim handling training program
Valid driver's license; acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must display solid verbal and written communication skills.
Hardware and software skills and abilities including computers and other similar electronic devices.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
