  Peter enjoyed the fact that he comes from a family that has spread throughout the globe. He has relatives living in different countries in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The biggest achievement though is that his extended family has remained very close despite the obvious disadvantage of great distances. He knows most of his uncles and aunts as well as his cousins. In fact, if there is ever an opportunity they would visit each other and have wonderful vacations in different countries. Accommodations are never a problem because there is always a ready bed in their relatives’ homes. Peter has visited his cousins in Australia, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sweden, Belgium and the UK. He enjoys spending a lot of time with his relatives because he not only gets to bond with his relatives but he also gets a taste of experiencing different cultures and gaining a first-hand knowledge of the countries he has visited. In fact, his travels have become so influential to him that he decided to take International Studies in college.

  
  

  A special place in the heart

  
  

  Among all of the countries that he has visited though, the United Kingdom has a special place in his heart. This is because his grandmother has relocated there with one of his aunts. He loved visiting his grandmother and bonding with her, listening to her stories of her childhood as a daughter of a diplomat. She also travelled extensively as a child, accompanying her father to his trips abroad whenever she can get away with it. Peter never forgot her grandmother even when he was back home in Canada. He would continually send her emails (his grandmother learned to open her own email because so many of her grandchildren and grand nieces and nephews send her messages) and call her whenever he has the time. He would also periodically send her flowers. Because of Peter’s penchant to send flowers to his grandmother he had to use the services of a UK florist to take care of flower delivery in his behalf.   A big blow came to Peter when he found out that his grandmother has taken ill. She was 93 years old and her health has deteriorated over the years. Peter, by this time, has been forced to limit his travels because of the demands of both work and family. His career is taking much of his time as well as being a new husband. Even though he could not visit his grandmother he would still continue to call her on the phone and send her loving email messages. He also sent her quite a number of get well bouquets to cheer her up. Even though he felt guilty for not having visited his grandmother he knew that she understood his situation. His grandmother even consoled him and told him not to feel guilty. She was excited about the fact that Peter is now married and intimated that she looked forward to seeing her great grandchildren.
  
  But his grandmother’s health continued to worsen until one day received a tearful call from his aunt. Peter’s grandmother passed away in her sleep. Peter was devastated about the news and yet despite his desire to fly to the UK to attend his grandmother’s funeral he just could not. There are pressing matters at school and as a doctorate student it is just not possible for him to leave. Peter knew that his grandmother would have understood if he was not able to go to his funeral but he still wanted to show her how much she means to him. He again enlisted the help of Serenata Flowers. He placed an order for a number of very beautiful bouquets for his grandmother. A final gesture of how much he loved her.
